Though UK is always open to welcome international students but there is no escape for applicants from undergoing the selection criteria for the UK student visa. Edu Channel will assist you and take you through the entire process of applying for student visa.

Once you have received Confirmation of Acceptance Studies (CAS ) letter from the institution, you can apply for student visa. A student has to personally go to the nearest Visa Facilitation Services (VFS) to apply for visa and Biometrics registration. The VFS UK visa application centres are available in 12 cities in India.

You need to complete the visa application form online and schedule an appointment online. Manually completed applications will no longer be accepted under the points-based system. . Please print a hard copy of your visa application form on good quality paper and bring this, together with all supporting documentation to your appointment at the visa application centre. Please note: when you make an online visa application you are required to make an appointment at the visa application centre online at the same time. When you attend the visa application centre, you will need to provide your biometric information, which includes a photograph and a digital scan of your fingerprints. If you have temporary injuries on your fingers, please wait until the injuries heal before your appointment date. You should also remove any henna on your fingertips.

Process:
a. How Many days prior a student can apply for visa
90 days i.e. 3 months prior an applicant can apply for Student Visa, but cannot travel before 30 days i.e. 1 month. From the course commencement date.

b. Documents Checklist

1) Original Passport.
2) Visa Application form.
3) Copy of CAS certificate issued by the education provider Advance tuition fees payment Receipt - If anything paid.
4) All the financial documents - must be minimum 28 days old – bank funds in the savings/current accounts on your name or parents name. If the funds are held by your parent(s) in the bank you need to submit your original birth certificate and No Objection letter from your parent(s) for using their funds All financial documents should be dated within 30 days at the time of making application .
5) All original academic documents, including test score reports – IELTS/TOEFL. PTE Academic, work experience letters - as listed in CAS letter.

c. Visa application Fees
The visa application fees is Rs 21,750/- (subject to change). Please check the website www.vfs-uk-in.com for any change in Visa fees.

d. Processing time:
The processing time required is 2 to 3 week.
