German Institute of Science and Technology - TUM Asia ("TUM Asia") was established as a 100 % subsidiary of TUM, offering various joint master degree programmes in close collaboration with Singapore´s leading universities the National University of Singapore ("NUS"), the Nanyang Technological University ("NTU") hence supported by numerous industry partners eg Infineon, Texas Instruments , Siemens.
GIST-TUM Asia runs selective TUM Master and /or Bachelor of Science programmes. The five active Master of Science programmes are namely Master of Science in Microelectronics, Master of Science in Integrated Circuit Design, Masters of Science in Industrial Chemistry, Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering and Master of Science in Transportation and Logistics. Whilst the former four programmes are run jointly with either the National University of Singapore (NUS) or with the Nayang Technological University (NTU), the latter is a pure TUM master programme. With the newly launched Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, this course is run collaboratively with Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). Currently this course has yet been open to include international students. Another vital mission of GIST-TUM Asia is to coordinate research programmes where scientists and researchers from both Germany and Singapore can work together for the advancement of science and technology.
