Living Expenses
Students can choose from Halls of Residence, Students Hostels, Dormitories, Homestay private apartments and flats. NZ$ 10,000 - 12,000 Per annum.
This includes food, clothing, transport, entertainment and accommodation.
Accomodation
Most educational institutions in New Zealand will assist you in finding accommodation while studying in New Zealand. There are various types of accommodation which are available to international students. These are like Halls of residence / Students Hostel, Homestay, Apartments / Flats. All students on finalising institution, should refer to its website for accomodation arrangements.
Health Insurance
It is strongly recommended that all international students obtain medical insurance cover because most temporary students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand. A condition of your student visa is that you must have an adequate allowance and this should include coverage of medical costs. It is costing generally between NZ$ 450 - NZ$ 492.
Scholarships
Funds are required for living (rent, food, transport, etc) and course costs (books and research expenses inducting international literature searches and data collection) in addition to tuition fees. if you need additional financial support to your own or family resources, there are a number of possibilities worth exploring. Note that application for funding is a separate operation to applying. You may receive admission to study but not be successful in your application for funds. You will not be granted a scholarship without admission
